Head ‘N Home Hats

Head ‘N Home Hats

Each hat is hand constructed. Most use a fine top grain cowhide, which is hand-formed, then glued and sewn together. The individual shaping and characterizing then begins. Each hat is wetted and rewetted, formed, pushed and prodded until it has just the right styling. It is then trimmed with domestic or exotic (non-endangered) skins. Creative uses of coins, conchos, and bones are also used to give each piece a one of a kind appeal. Traditional techniques with an emphasis on handwork are used exclusively. Fine fashion colored skins brings in a soft feminine look to many of his pieces. One cannot limit by definition the type of hats that roar out of Head ‘n Home. The range is from the most elegant, feminine creation to a down right crusty piece that looks worn for decades. Each piece is an artistic, functional statement.

May Photography

May was born in Houston, Texas and moved to Israel when she was a child. Her journey began after leaving the military at the age of twenty. From 2006 to 2011, May traveled to twenty-five countries and captured the movements of the world. During that period of time, May became a faithful visitor to New Orleans, and has been documenting the city from her own unique perspective ever since. May’s main focus is street photography and the street music scene in New Orleans. She has shown her photographs of New Orleans in several exhibits in Israel.

In February 2015, May officially moved to New Orleans to expand her creativity and share her vision of this magical city. May currently sells her work as a street vendor on Royal Street and at the Frenchman Art Market. May’s work is also exhibited in several cafes and restaurants across the city. With every photo May takes, she begins to understand the complex rhythms of the city, the orchestral sounds of color, music, food, culture, and landscapes that her favorite city has to offer.
